History: It is said that the Clark Cemetery was established at the time of the death of William Clark, in 1851, as a community burying ground for the Beech Creek area. It was used for local burials from that point forward. In 1920 an organization was formed to maintain the cemetery, but became defunct thereafter. In more recent years, an association has been formed to maintain the cemetery. It has received a few burials over the years, the most recent being in the 1990s. This cemetery has also been called the Old Presbyterian Cemetery. It is known that William Clark was a Presbyterian by faith. |
