History: Lucullus appears to be the site of a logging community over 100 years ago. It is known that the Barton Independent School was located here, circa 1907. The cemetery contains many graves, mostly of children, scattered throughout a small area of woods. It was maintained for many years by John Giles, who was buried there after his death in 1993. It is currently looked after, and although it is grown up into woods, each grave is marked with a white metal cross and artificial flowers. |
