From the intersection of Jay and Water Streets in Lock Haven (the Lock Haven Courthouse), travel west on Water Street for 1 mile. Turn right onto PA Route 120 (Susquehanna Avenue) and travel 39.1 miles. Turn right onto Martin Lane (Private). Go 0.1 mile on gravel road. Turn right onto a grass path at the sign for Stimpson Cemetery. Follow this path up over the hill and through the woods for 0.2 mile. The road dead-ends at the cemetery on the side of a hill. History: Durrell and Allison Kryder, sons of John Kryder, the pioneer of East Keating Township, settled in the region above the town of Keating. It became known as the Stimpson property and was used by the family as a burial place. The cemetery is still used occasionally, and is well maintained. |
