History: The Weise family was among the earliest pioneer families of the Swissdale area. Gottlieb Weise and Conrad Weise were the patriarchs of the family. Most of the family are buried at Swissdale (Woodward Township) but a few of the family members were buried on the farm along Big Plum Run Road. The burial site was on a knoll on the farm, and it was said by Miss Florence M. Laubscher to contain the remains of Weise and Hall family members. Donald Weise recalled that two aunts were supposed to be buried there. The only markers for the graves were fieldstones. |
